For the final demonstration of the use cases of TANet and Azevedos, the technical meeting for the 3ʳᵈ project year was held in Breukelen (near Utrecht in the Netherlands) from August 6ᵗʰ – 8ᵗʰ to amend the last necessary technical details. The final missing bits and pieces for the demonstration of the use cases were exchanged, results were presented, the state of the deliverables as reported and implementation for open issues took place.

Also, the team had a very fun time visiting Amsterdam and having the last official meeting in between the projects partners within the duration of the project.

Now the last month of ADVENTURE is running out, and the team gathers the last deliverables due in M36, and is looking forward to the review meeting in October. To all readers of this news-stream: thanks a lot for your interest in ADVENTURE! Still, this will not be the last update for sure :)

The topics were mainly the last review meeting and what was still missing from a technical standpoint. For the last review of ADVENTURE, the two use cases are presented in context of ADVENTURE.

AZEVEDOS INDUSTRIA is a producer of machinery used to manufacture cork stoppers, including design, custom built parts and control software as well as support and repair tasks. For the use case of AZEV, many manual tasks happen in a Virtual Factory, that can be based on default templates created once.

Control2K (member of TANET) is a systems integrator providing monitoring solutions for companies like FORD. They extend their monitoring using ADVENTURE to integrate additional logic and smart sensors in their product and will demonstrate this using an ADVENTURE Virtual Factory.

Review in Brussels http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2013/10/review-in-brussels/ http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2013/10/review-in-brussels/#comments Mon, 28 Oct 2013 13:08:52 +0000 http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/?p=1060 Continue Reading]]> On October 14ᵗʰ-15ᵗʰ, 2013, ADVENTURE was presented to the EU reviewers in Brussels for the second time.

For the second years review, the ADVENTURE team focussed on showing as many component-prototypes as possible in an integrated demo, in a fictional but coherent story of a business opportunity at Azevedos Industria. In fact, the team had so many demos that we had to cut some, and we even managed to keep to our time limits. Also noticeably not a single demo failed or had bugs, and we succeeded in showing the interaction between all prototypes that were due to that date.

The reviewers were happy with the progress and the excessive coverage and handling of all the criticism they had the year before, as another main focus was the last years’s criticism which was broadly dealt with. Especially the team received very positive feedback for the fine grained plan for intellectual property rights. Overall, the reviewers offered very positive feedback and suggestions.

All deliverables, presentations and prototypes are being submitted to the reviewers in the following days, and we’re awaiting the formal feedback in written form. Also, you’ll find all public deliverables popping up on our website under http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/resources/ soon.

Thanks for everyone who participated. Let’s get to work for the third stage! :-)

The second review is approaching mid October in Brussels, we’ll write another update how it went.

The plenary meeting occured in Porto at INESC. The main focus was the user interface and the integration of the components. Based on the main use cases from the user partners the cooperation of the components has been identified.

Additionally the ADVENTURE workshop has taken place on the FAIM conference 2013, where the ADVENTURE project could be presented to many visitors, which were involved with a lot of motivation in question and answer sessions. Finally at the ADVENTURE Panel discussion the ADVENTURE consortium got some constructive feedback.

The external advisory board managed to teach the consortium about real world industry cases where ADVENTURE might be applicable, as well as informing about copyright and patent laws and advising on intellectual property issues that could arise and on how to prevent those.

The board also decided on the extension of the Azevedos use case to substitute the loss of ABB from the consortium, in order to make the use case more relevant for bigger use cases where the whole supply chain has to be covered.

Also, an internal competition was held where eleven projects by six consortium members were presented. After a quick voting, it was decided that the “ADVENTURE Mobile Status App” by Ascora and “Graphical Approach for Gateway Implementation” by TIE were the winners, which will be implemented in the further course of the project.
