For the final demonstration of the use cases of TANet and Azevedos, the technical meeting for the 3ʳᵈ project year was held in Breukelen (near Utrecht in the Netherlands) from August 6ᵗʰ – 8ᵗʰ to amend the last necessary technical details. The final missing bits and pieces for the demonstration of the use cases were exchanged, results were presented, the state of the deliverables as reported and implementation for open issues took place.

Also, the team had a very fun time visiting Amsterdam and having the last official meeting in between the projects partners within the duration of the project.

Now the last month of ADVENTURE is running out, and the team gathers the last deliverables due in M36, and is looking forward to the review meeting in October. To all readers of this news-stream: thanks a lot for your interest in ADVENTURE! Still, this will not be the last update for sure :)

Initial Interviews Conducted http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2014/05/initial-interviews-conducted/ http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2014/05/initial-interviews-conducted/#comments Tue, 27 May 2014 14:49:29 +0000 http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/?p=1159 Continue Reading]]> The initial interviews about the acceptance of ADVENTURE and possible feature wishes began this month with several partners conducting interview sessions with engineers from a range of companies within the manufacturing domain.

The questionnaire that was developed by the project partners during the Vaasa meeting, is freely available online at http://fp7-adventure.eu/questionnaire. Prior to the questionnaire the interviewee is show the ADVENTURE video which provides them with the core vision of the project, and following this a brief presentation which explains in more technical depth the functionality and features the platform offers and what the benefits are to companies who us it.

Initial feedback has been very positive with a lot of focus by interviewees on the exact functionality offered by ADVENTURE. The questionnaire has also sparked interest from companies to review their current technology for collaborations with the customers and suppliers.

More interviews are planned this month and we look forward to the see the final outcomes. You can also still use the link above to take part in the online survey.

We finished a new Flyer and a new Newsletter with updated information about the project. Also, everyone is frantically working at the integration of the first functional prototype components, and time is filled with meetings, deliverable documents and coding.

The second review is approaching mid October in Brussels, we’ll write another update how it went.

ADVENTURE Month 24 and 2013 Review approaching http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2013/08/adventure-month-24-and-2013-review-approaching/ http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/2013/08/adventure-month-24-and-2013-review-approaching/#comments Fri, 30 Aug 2013 16:04:12 +0000 http://www.fp7-adventure.eu/?p=1038 Continue Reading]]> The ADVENTURE time schedule quickly approaches the end of month 24, when many prototypes are finished, which means all partners are working hard to get the best possible solutions online. The month 24 prototypes are going to be shown on the next review meeting in Brussels, where individual presentations and a combined prototype presentation is planned.

There have been updates to a lot of earlier documents to reflect the changes deemed necessary in the implementation phase:

  • D2.1 Project Vision Consensus Document
  • D2.3 Requirement Analysis Report
  • D3.1 Global Architecture Definition
  • D3.2 Functional Specification
  • D3.3 Technical Specification

Also, a big number of other deliverables are finished or in the works, under these are:

  • D3.4 The Conceptual Manufacturing Reference Model
  • D4.1.2 ADVENTURE Cloud Based Data Storage Prototype 2
  • D8.1.1 IPR Document
  • D8.3.2 Scientific Dissemination Report 2
  • D8.3.4 ADVENTURE Workshop Report 1
  • D8.5.3 Report on Cluster Activitites
  • and some more (Gateway Developers Guide, State of the Art Wiki Update and some more Prototype deliverables, and this list is just comprised of what I saw personally in the last month)

Also a new project Flyer has been designed, hackers tried to infiltrate the ADVENTURE servers, and a lot of work has been done in terms of meetings, decisions and conceptual work to make the planned Dashboard more modern and enjoyable. And this is also just a small excerpt of what happens. Busy schedules.

Meanwhile, the second ADVENTURE review is approaching on the horizon and the month 24 milestones are close on deadline, so not everyone is sitting on the beach. The last IPR discussions before delivering an amendment to the description of work are committed, integration meetings try to settle on deadlines for specific integration features between ADVENTURE components, information for a late workshop report is gathered and although the temperatures in the offices of partners keep rising, a lot of programming takes place and ice cream is being continuously consumed, maybe even more than APIs.

The external advisory board managed to teach the consortium about real world industry cases where ADVENTURE might be applicable, as well as informing about copyright and patent laws and advising on intellectual property issues that could arise and on how to prevent those.

The board also decided on the extension of the Azevedos use case to substitute the loss of ABB from the consortium, in order to make the use case more relevant for bigger use cases where the whole supply chain has to be covered.

Also, an internal competition was held where eleven projects by six consortium members were presented. After a quick voting, it was decided that the “ADVENTURE Mobile Status App” by Ascora and “Graphical Approach for Gateway Implementation” by TIE were the winners, which will be implemented in the further course of the project.

ADVENTURE now enters a phase where more technical concepts get turned into reality. To start things up, a technical meeting was held on the 4th and 5th of December 2012 in Vienna. After the holidays, and with a good review report that doesn’t cause much work, the team is now organizing in telcos to push development work forwards as the deadline for the month #18 deliverables arrives at the end of February.
