Also, the team had a very fun time visiting Amsterdam and having the last official meeting in between the projects partners within the duration of the project.
Now the last month of ADVENTURE is running out, and the team gathers the last deliverables due in M36, and is looking forward to the review meeting in October. To all readers of this news-stream: thanks a lot for your interest in ADVENTURE! Still, this will not be the last update for sure
AZEVEDOS INDUSTRIA is a producer of machinery used to manufacture cork stoppers, including design, custom built parts and control software as well as support and repair tasks. For the use case of AZEV, many manual tasks happen in a Virtual Factory, that can be based on default templates created once.
Control2K (member of TANET) is a systems integrator providing monitoring solutions for companies like FORD. They extend their monitoring using ADVENTURE to integrate additional logic and smart sensors in their product and will demonstrate this using an ADVENTURE Virtual Factory.
]]>Now that the M33 deliverables are completed, the focus of the project will be to bring the use cases into reality. While this is already in progress, the next plenary meeting will focus on shaping up the use cases to have them in a final stage for the review in Octobre. This plenary meeting will take place in two weeks in Sofia, Bulgaria, and be hosted by ISOFT.
]]>The questionnaire that was developed by the project partners during the Vaasa meeting, is freely available online at http://fp7-adventure.eu/questionnaire. Prior to the questionnaire the interviewee is show the ADVENTURE video which provides them with the core vision of the project, and following this a brief presentation which explains in more technical depth the functionality and features the platform offers and what the benefits are to companies who us it.
Initial feedback has been very positive with a lot of focus by interviewees on the exact functionality offered by ADVENTURE. The questionnaire has also sparked interest from companies to review their current technology for collaborations with the customers and suppliers.
More interviews are planned this month and we look forward to the see the final outcomes. You can also still use the link above to take part in the online survey.

As mentioned some time ago, ADVENTURE
participated in the organization of the Workshop entitled “ICT services and interoperability for Manufacturing” at the International Conference on Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications (I-ESA 2014) in Albi, France. The Workshop was jointly organized by, and included presentations from the ADVENTURE, FLEXINET, FITMAN, IMAGINE and MSEE projects. We would like to give thanks to the partners of the other projects and everybody who participated in the Workshop for a great time.
The finish line of our ADVENTURE is in clear sight and everybody is working hard to finish the developement of the last prototypes and the implementation of the use-cases. Make sure to check out our first Newsletter in 2014 for additional information about the latest activites in ADVENTURE. You can download the Newsletter here.
Therefore we removed the logo from the ADVENTURE website and won’t use it any further for future publications in the context of this project.
The recommendation of the EU is to display the EU emblem and to include the following text:
“This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 231396”.
You can find the statement by the EU here.

The last ADVENTURE consortial meeting in Vaasa (Finland) was hosted by the University of Vaasa (or UVA as we like to call them). They prepared a very special meeting place for us at Kalle’s Inn, which is a very beautiful place and the evening event included a traditional smoke sauna, hot tubs and a hole in an ice sea if you wanted to cool down (I didn’t dare but actually everyone who tried it is still alive).

Besides the nice Finnish people, the beautiful winter-wonder-landscape and the (let’s say interesting) mid-week nightlife in Vaasa, the meeting was also very productive now that ADVENTURE has reached the third year, and the technology has to be validated by the use case partners. Questionaries for possible users have been created to find out what would be necessary to put the ADVENTURE platform to use in real world processes. The last IPR issues were discussed and the general progress towards the delivery of the second batch of prototypes were some of the main topics.
Enjoy some of the photos we made.
]]>By the way, you still have a week left to submit papers to the ADVENTURE workshop at the I-ESA 2014:
